Tethered
Tethered explores my diasporic identity as the son of Bengali immigrants. I visually negotiate the tension between the Bengali-Muslim collectivism fostered within my family and my desire for autonomy and self-expression. I capture the internal conflict, longing, and striving for reconciliation that define my experience and how tradition and individuality uncomfortably coexist within me. I question what it means to belong to invite broader conversations on tradition, generational expectations, and the evolving definition of home.
