Between Us
At the start of university, I was drawn to moments of human connection—or disconnection. I became captivated by the space between people over their interactions and the expressions made from them, as well as how things take on new meanings when put next to one another.
Between Us brings out those observations through portraiture and still life, with each image accompanied by a caption to clarify the illustration. The collection is organized into three sections:
-
"Envy" delves into feelings of isolation and the longing to belong.
-
"Interactive" illustrates the sense of uncomfortability, yet addresses the importance of expressing oneself to bring people together.
-
"Prosperity" explores life's unpredictability and the opportunities that come from accepting ambiguity.

Through this work, I've gained perspective on how we, as people, connect to our surroundings. It became my natural method of documenting the in-between moments as a way to see purpose in the dynamics between people.
